The 36-year-old LT called his restructured deal a "a win-win" scenario for both himself and San Francisco. The 11-time Pro Bowler is still playing at an elite level, and with the 49ers also having successfully retained WR Brandon Aiyuk after a tumultuous offseason, the key pieces of this offense remain largely intact heading into a Week 1 matchup against the Jets on Monday.

Impact Lynch said Pearsall's recovery has been "nothing short of miraculous," as the rookie wide receiver returned to team facilities Tuesday after having been shot as the victim of an attempted robbery on Saturday. Due to having been placed on the reserve/NFI-list on Monday, Pearsall is ruled out for at least the first four games of the regular season, but it's a positive sign for his health to hear Lynch's confidence that the first-rounder will suit up at some point in his rookie season.

Christian McCaffrey - Back at practice Tuesday McCaffrey (calf) is in uniform for the portion of Tuesday's practice open to the media, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.

Impact The 49ers' first official practice report of Week 1 won't be released until Thursday, so it's unclear whether McCaffrey is practicing in full or on a limited basis Tuesday. Nonetheless, it's encouraging to see the star running back participating in any capacity. A calf injury forced McCaffrey to miss all of the preseason and most of training camp, though he did resume working out on a side field mid-August. San Francisco seems to anticipate McCaffrey suiting up for Monday's regular-season opener against the Jets, but if he isn't able to fully shed all injury designations, backup running back Jordan Mason and depth options Isaac Guerendo (groin) and Patrick Taylor could benefit from increased opportunities.

Impact Pearsall managed to return to the 49ers' weight room just two days after having been released from the hospital following a Saturday robbery attempt in which he sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. San Francisco will doubtless take a cautious approach to the rookie first-round pick's recovery, but it's encouraging to already see Pearsall back at team facilities. Due to his placement on the reserve/NFI list, Pearsall will not be eligible to suit up for the 49ers' first four games of the regular season.
