Returning to practice Day (knee) is set to return to practice Wednesday, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.

Impact Day's return to practice kicks off a 21-day window for the Colts to evaluate whether to add him to the active roster or let him revert back to IR for the rest of the year. He's recovering from a minor knee procedure undergone late August.

Nearing return from IR Coach Frank Reich said Monday that Day (knee) will return to practice this week, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.

Impact The 26-year-old underwent a minor knee procedure in late August and was placed on injured reserve before Week 1, but he'll retake the practice field this week. Day is eligible to be activated after spending the three-week minimum on injured reserve, but he may not be ready to return Week 4.

Impact Day underwent a minor procedure on his knee Aug. 31 and he'll miss the first month of the season at least. Day was only supposed to handle a depth role for the Colts in 2020, so his absence likely won't affect the defense a great deal.

Impact Day will now be forced to rehab his injury, leaving his availability for Week 1's game against Jacksonville in jeopardy. The Notre Dame product was looking at a depth role with the team in 2020 anyhow, so his absence likely won't affect the defense a great deal.
