Broncos' Emmanuel Sanders, Chris Harris Jr. get into a brawl at practice
Training camp fights are nothing new – in fact, they’re common – but it sounds like things got a bit out of hand during in Denver on Monday.
According to several reports, tempers boiled over between Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders during practice to the point where punches were thrown.
Both players’ helmets were also ripped off before Sanders threw his helmet to the sideline. It wasn’t just Sanders and Harris going at it. The scuffle turned into a brawl with the rest of the defense jumping in.
The two shook hands afterwards, but both declined to speak to the media following practice.
Head coach Gary Kubiak commented on the fight, attributing it to the heat of competition.
It’s a good sign Sanders and Harris seemingly made up after practice, but it’s clear that these players need to hit someone other than their teammates. Fortunately, preseason allows them to do so, with the regular season just around the corner.
Chris Harris and Emmanuel Sanders just got in a fist fight following a play in which Harris pulled Sanders down by his helmet. #Broncos
