Carson Wentz: 'In North Dakota, we don't care for flash or dazzle'

By now it seems like a near certainly that Carson Wentz will be drafted either first or second overall in this week's NFL Draft. Yet while Wentz is one of the biggest names in the draft, he will still enter the league with plenty of concerns. The main one focuses on the level of competition he's faced; after spending five years at FCS power North Dakota State, is he really ready for what lies ahead in the NFL?

It's a fair question, but one that Wentz is apparently tired of hearing since on Monday he penned a candid, blunt piece on The Players' Tribune.

It opened with a fantastic quote, on who is, and more importantly where he's from:

My goodness, talk about an introduction. I'm guessing the fans of Philly are going to love that (assuming of course, he ends up in Philly).

Even more, Wentz went on to defend himself, and the level of competition he faced at North Dakota State.

From there Wentz discusses a full range of topics about his youth in North Dakota, everything from how he got into football, to the competitive drive that was instilled with him by competing with his older brother in everything.

It's a fascinating look at Wentz, through the eyes of Wentz.

One thing is for certain: Although he does enter the NFL with question marks, the one thing Wentz isn't lacking is confidence in himself.
