Panthers, Broncos open 2016 NFL season with Super Bowl 50 rematch
It'll be a Super Bowl 50 rematch when the Carolina Panthers take on the Denver Broncos in the 2016 NFL season opener.

Cam Newton and the Panthers will get a chance to exact a measure of revenge for their 24-10 loss in February. The nationally televised "Thursday Night Football" game will be held at Denver's Mile High Stadium on Sept. 8. The Charlotte Observer first reported the news, which was confirmed by FS1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo.
The complete NFL schedule was released Thursday night.
It is the first Super Bowl rematch on opening weekend since 1970, when Minnesota beat champion Kansas City 27-10.
The Broncos, of course, will look a little differently in September than they did when they hoisted the Lombardi Trophy earlier this year: Peyton Manning has retired, and Brock Osweiler, Danny Trevathan and Malik Jackson have left in free agency.
