Fletcher Cox cracks PFF's Top 101 at No. 46 overall
Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Fletcher Cox finally put it all together in 2014. Cox's buzz stats like sacks and forced fumbles don't jump off the page, but he was a constant disruption on a per-snap basis. The game charters at Pro Football Focus, who break down every single play by every single player, ranked Cox as the 46th best player in the NFL in 2014.
They provided the following analysis on Cox's season.
Cox is entering the fourth year of his rookie deal, and the Eagles have already picked up the fifth-year team option on his contract. Cox was mentioned in Marcus Mariota trade rumors leading up to the draft, but so far he has shown no signs of being disgruntled about those rumors. Cox is a key piece to the Eagles defense and an argument can be made that he is their best player overall heading into the 2015 season.

Only four 3-4 defensive ends would score a higher overall grade than Cox, who was the standout Eagle on their defense. Logging a frankly absurd 962 snaps, he was relentless despite what the sack numbers might say. A lot of his best work was done in the run game, where his ability to bulldoze through/over/around gaps saw many a running back met with him before they expecting.
Best Performance: Week 10, CAR @ PHI, +6.4
Key Stat: 35 defensive stops against the run were third most of all 3-4 defensive ends.
