Katie Nolan: Cutting Josh Brown won't help domestic violence issues

Published Nov. 15, 2016 1:49 p.m. ET

During Wednesday night's episode of "Garbage Time" with Katie Nolan, she took a look at the punishment levied against ex-Giants kicker Josh Brown recently and other perpetrators of domestic violence, examining how the NFL's policy actually affects all parties involved.

Basically, what's the result when outrage spurs a player's release as it did for Brown when new documents emerged in the case in which Brown admitted to abusing his wife?

Getting rid of the player is "only about making us feel better," Nolan argues, citing studies that suggest counseling and accountability are far more effective. Watch the full segment above and check out Garbage Time at 11:30 p.m. ET on Wednesdays on FS1.
