The Los Angeles Rams are hoping to build some momentum upon their return to the West Coast - and they're off to a great start.

On the first day that the team launched a campaign for season ticket deposits, standing at the front of the line is a man who made distribution an art form: Earvin "Magic" Johnson.

The legendary former Los Angeles Lakers point guard secured the first deposit for the Rams, the team announced Monday on its Twitter feed. Johnson tweeted shortly afterward how excited he was to see "OUR" team next season.

Part of the ownership group that purchased the Los Angeles Dodgers, Johnson churned out a series of tweets last week upon the announcement that the franchise was relocating from St. Louis to Los Angeles.

The Rams left Los Angeles after the 1994 season and played 21 seasons in St. Louis before owner Stan Kroenke received the green light from the NFL to move to a planned $1.8 billion complex in Inglewood, Calif. The team will play at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum starting next season.
