NEW YORK (AP) Jury selection has begun in a civil trial over a California woman's claim that she was punched in the face by a New York Jets receiver outside a Manhattan nightclub.

Christin Myles seeks unspecified damages from Brandon Marshall at a federal trial that started Tuesday.

The San Diego woman says she has had recurring head and neck pain since she was knocked down outside the Marquee nightclub on March 11, 2012. At the time, she was 24 years old.

Judge George Daniels introduced both Marshall and Myles to prospective jurors. Each stood and turned slightly toward the potential jurors.

The judge told prospective jurors that Marshall has denied striking Myles. He was not charged criminally. A security video partially showing the altercation and some photographs are among likely trial exhibits.
