Eagles to interview Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo for head-coaching vacancy

The Philadelphia Eagles are set to interview an NFC East rival's offensive coordinator for their head-coaching vacancy.

FOX Sports has confirmed the Eagles received permission from the New York Giants to speak with Ben McAdoo. The interview will take place Thursday.

In his two seasons with the Giants, McAdoo has done impressive work with Eli Manning after the quarterback's poor 2013 campaign in which he threw far more interceptions (27) than touchdown passes (18). Manning threw only 14 interceptions in each of the past two seasons to go along with 30 and 35 scoring passes, respectively.

The Giants also plan to interview the 38-year-old McAdoo and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo for their own head-coaching vacancy that opened Monday following the resignation of Tom Coughlin after 12 seasons at the helm.

McAdoo is one name among an extensive list of candidates expected to meet with the Eagles as the team chooses a successor for Chip Kelly, who was fired before the regular-season finale.

The New York Post first reported the news of McAdoo's Eagles interview.
