Police say ex-Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy arrested on drug charge
Former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy was arrested Sunday on a drug charge in Richardson, Texas, according to police.
Hardy was charged with possession of a controlled substance and was being held in Richardson City Jail on Monday afternoon, as reported by NBC Dallas Fort-Worth. Bond has been set at $5,000.
While playing with the Carolina Panthers, Hardy was arrested on a charge of suspicion of domestic violence in 2014, stemming from an incident with his former girlfriend. Those charges were eventually expunged from his record when the woman failed to appear in court.
The Panthers cut ties with Hardy after he was put on the Commissioner's Exempt List.
Hardy eventually signed with the Cowboys and played last season in Dallas, recording six sacks in 12 games. Despite his production, he remains unsigned.
