The Seattle Seahawks will lose a 2017 fifth-round draft pick and their first week of 2017 OTAs after the NFL penalized the team and coach Pete Carroll for allowing excessive on-field contact in a June 6, 2016, OTA.
The league issued a statement Monday detailing the penalties, which include a $400,000 fine for the team and a $200,000 fine for coach Pete Carroll.
The Seahawks are off to a disappointing 1-1 start with just 15 points scored in two games after going to the playoffs – including two Super Bowls -- in each of the past four seasons.
