Impact The undrafted rookie out of Iowa earned a spot on the Week 1 roster, but he may be a healthy scratch or otherwise limited to special teams to start his career. Derrick Henry will continue handling the vast majority of carries in Tennessee, with Jeremy McNichols likely handling a backup role that includes work on passing downs. Sargent would be an occasional sub on early downs, at most, and he may even lose his roster spot if/when Darrynton Evans (IR - knee) returns.

Impact On the other hand, fellow wideout A.J. Brown (knee) didn't practice, though it won't come as any surprise if he returns Thursday or Friday and ultimately suits up for Sunday's game. Both Brown and Jones (undisclosed) missed practice time throughout the summer, as did QB Ryan Tannehill (due to a stint on the COVID list). Even with the lack of reps, Jones figures to see plenty of targets in his Titans debut, and it shouldn't take long to develop chemistry if he and Tannehill both stay healthy.

Impact It's not unusual for Brown to have his practice reps managed, but his absence from practice Wednesday makes the wideout's status worth monitoring as Sunday's season opener against the Cardinals approaches. A return to practice Thursday, in any capacity, would put Brown on track to play in Week 1, and if so, he'll be slated to start opposite newcomer Julio Jones, whose name doesn't appear on Tennessee's initial injury report.
