Rewarded for excellent season Watt was named the 2021 Defensive Player of the Year on Thursday. Impact Watt got after the quarterback all season and tied the single-season sack record with 22.5 sacks. He also chipped in 64 total tackles -- the second-highest total of his career -- and forced five fumbles despite missing a pair of games and being regularly forced to take plays off when active due to a groin injury. Watt beat out both Micah Parsons and Aaron Donald for the honor.
