Aiming for Week 1 Tremble (hamstring) said Wednesday that he hopes to be ready for Week 1 against the Saints, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Impact Tremble and Ian Thomas (calf) have been out for much of August, leaving rookie fourth-round pick Ja'Tavion Sanders as the only healthy tight end on Carolina's initial 53-man roster. Sanders is also thee most likely of the bunch to emerge as a major receiving threat, but Tremble and/or Thomas could get a lot of playing time early in the season due to their advantages in blocking and experience.

Officially out Saturday Tremble (hamstring) is inactive for Saturday's preseason finale against Buffalo, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Impact Carolina is playing most of its starters in the contest, but Tremble is being held out due to continued management of a hamstring injury. The 24-year-old will thus miss the entire preseason slate, though there hasn't been any indication that he won't be ready to suit up for Week 1 of the regular season. Fellow tight end Ian Thomas has a calf injury and is also sitting out Saturday, so fourth-round rookie Ja'Tavion Sanders figures to work with the starters.

Impact Canales said the Panthers are taking some precautionary measures with Tremble, to try and prevent worsening the state of his hamstring. Impact Tremble's receiving production has been strikingly similar each of his three NFL seasons, yet 2023 marginally marked his best campaign yet. The tight end will be in the final year of his rookie contract in 2024 and will look to remain a complementary option in what will hopefully be an improved offense under a new coaching staff.

Impact Tremble's 59 yards in the contest were a season-high for the veteran tight end. The 23-year-old dominated the tight end snap share, playing 73 percent of offensive snaps Sunday. Meanwhile, Stephen Sullivan and Ian Thomas played 21 and 18 percent of snaps, respectively. Tremble is the clear No. 1 option at tight end, but his inconsistent production make him a difficult option to trust for fantasy purposes. The Panthers visit the Jaguars in Week 17.

Impact Tremble missed Week 13 but then returned for Week 14 and took 65 percent of snaps on offense in a 28-6 loss to New Orleans. That was actually his smallest snap share since Hayden Hurst entered concussion protocol in early November, and with Hurst now expected to miss the rest of the season, Tremble is locked in as Carolina's top tight end. Ian Thomas (ankle) also will be out this week, but it's worth noting that Tremble has yet to see more than three targets in a game this season even though Carolina's tight end group often has been thinned out by injuries.
