Impact Vladar will get the start after Jacob Markstrom (lower body) was ruled out for Tuesday. Vladar allowed seven goals on 40 shots in a loss to the Hurricanes on Saturday, and he'll have another tough challenge on hand against an Avalanche team that has scored 25 goals over the last six games.

Impact Vladar picked up his first win since Jan. 16 in a big showing against the Flames' biggest rivals. The 26-year-old gave up a pair of goals to Zach Hyman and one more tally to Mattias Janmark in garbage time. The win lifted Vladar to 8-7-2 with a 3.21 GAA and an .890 save percentage through 18 appearances. Jacob Markstrom has been pretty good lately, but he wasn't 100 percent Saturday and he's historically struggled versus the Oilers, which makes head coach Ryan Huska's decision to go with Vladar look wise. Impact Vladar played 33:19 in the contest after Markstrom was pulled for giving up four goals on 12 shots. The 26-year-old Vladar was on injured reserve for a week due to a lower-body injury. It's unclear if he'll get much immediate playing time with Markstrom entrenched as the Flames' No. 1 goalie, but with trade rumors swirling, Vladar's workload could increase if Markstrom is dealt. For the season, Vladar is 7-7-2 with a 3.22 GAA and an .888 save percentage, and he'd likely have to share the crease with Dustin Wolf in a post-Markstrom Flames lineup.

The Czech was at least fit enough to serve as the backup behind Jacob Markstrom on Thursday but now the team has brought Dustin Wolf from the minors to fill that role.

Impact The only reason that the game was only 1-0 after the first period was because of the heroics of Vladar. He absolutely robbed Connor Brown with a glove save on a 2-on-1 and added another 11 saves in the frame to give his team a chance. Vladar was beat on a Ryan McLeod breakaway that he had little chance on to open the scoring. Unfortunately, early in the third period with the game tied up 1-1, Vladar allowed a fluky goal that was shot from behind the net, bounced off teammate Rasmus Andersson's stick and floated behind him. That was the game winner and Zach Hyman's empty-net goal sealed the win for Edmonton.
