Impact Palat slotted into a second-line role in addition to linking up with the No. 2 power-play unit at Wednesday's practice. Before his 10-game absence, Palat was struggling offensively with just one point in his previous nine contests during which he averaged 15:42 of ice time.

Cal Foote - Granted indefinite leave Foote is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the Devils, the team announced Wednesday.
Impact Foote will leave the club for an unknown amount of time while attending to a personal matter. If the defenseman is expected to be away long-term, he could be placed on non-roster injured reserve, which will give the Devils an extra spot on the 23-man roster.

Vitek Vanecek - Hangs on for overtime victory Vanecek allowed five goals on 32 shots in Monday's 6-5 overtime win against the Golden Knights.
Impact Vanecek got off to a shaky start, allowing an early first period goal, then his offense staked him to a 3-1 lead. He allowed four unanswered goals in the second period, but once again his offense bailed him out. Luckily for Vanecek, Tyler Toffoli and Curtis Lazar were on another plane, and the veteran Toffoli made a winner of the goaltender at 2:35 of overtime to send the crowd away happy.

Impact Nemec ended the evening with a shot on goal, two blocked shots and a hit in his 21:40 of ice time across 28 shifts, third-most ice time among New Jersey's defensemen. The teen phenom has picked up the scoring pace in January, going for a goal and seven points across 10 games after managing a goal and five points in 14 outings in December, his first full NHL month.

Nathan Bastian - Helps out twice in overtime win Bastian posted two assists in Monday's 6-5 overtime win against the Golden Knights.
Impact Bastian finished with a plus-2 rating, a shot on goal and a hit in his 15:39 of ice time. It was the right winger's first multi-point showing of the season. His last multi-point performance came on April 11, 2023 when he had three assists in a victory against the Sabres. He'll look to add to his totals in a road game Thursday against the Hurricanes.

Curtis Lazar - Good for two goals in overtime win Lazar scored two goals in Monday's 6-5 overtime win against the Golden Knights.
Impact Lazar buried both of his shot attempts, and he finished with a plus-2 rating with a blocked shot in 12:53 of ice time across 20 shifts. It wasn't all great, as he lost all three of his faceoff chances, although fantasy managers aren't likely complaining too vehemently. He snapped a 21-game goal drought dating back to Nov. 28, although he does have a respectable six points in 10 games in the month of January.

Tyler Toffoli - Hats off in grand style Toffoli scored three goals in Monday's 6-5 overtime home win against the Golden Knights.
Impact Toffoli recorded his sixth career hat trick, and it was the first time he ended one with an overtime winner. He is the third different player in franchise history to complete a hat trick in overtime, joining Patrik Elias and Stephane Richer in the team's exclusive club. He has four goals in the past two games after notching four goals in the prior 22 games.

Impact Vanecek is coming off one of his best performances of the year, stopping 29 of 30 shots in a win over the Blue Jackets on Friday. However, the 28-year-old hasn't put together consecutive wins since Dec. 23 and 27. Over his last four outings, he's coughed up 12 goals on 106 shots. Vanecek is 15-7-2 with a 3.22 GAA and an .885 save percentage through 26 games this season.
