Ondrej Palat - Begins skating Palat (lower body) has begun skating but is not ready to rejoin the team, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports Monday.
Impact It's a step in the right direction for Palat, though he still has several hurdles to clear before he returns to the lineup. At this point, fantasy players probably shouldn't be expecting the veteran winger to return before the All-Star break, which would see him out of the lineup for at least the next three contests.

Tomas Nosek - Resumes skating Head coach Lindy Ruff told Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site Monday that Nosek (foot) has resumed skating.
Impact Despite making some progress, Nosek still isn't ready to join his teammates on the ice yet. He has been recovering from foot surgery since Nov. 29. Nosek has only appeared in six games this season, contributing four shots on goal, three blocked shots and four hits.

Jack Hughes - Won't return before All-Star break Hughes (upper body) will remain sidelined through the All-Star Game, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports Monday.
Impact Hughes will miss at least three more games after having already been sidelined for the previous 10 outings due to his upper-body injury. Nico Hischier should continue to feature in a first-line role with Hughes out of the lineup. With 45 points through 32 games this season, the world-class center could still challenge for the 90-point threshold if he is not sidelined too much longer.

Colin Miller - Dealing with illness Miller (illness) won't be available to play Monday against Vegas, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.
Impact Miller has contributed two goals, five points, 41 shots on net, 18 blocked shots and 36 hits across 25 outings this season. He will be replaced in the lineup Monday by Santeri Hatakka, who will make his New Jersey debut.

Daws time in the net may not last long if the Devils go out and trade for a goalie, as rumors continue to suggest. Don't over-invest in him yet.

Nico Daws - Slated to face Stars Daws is expected to start in Saturday's home game against Dallas, according to Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.
Impact Daws has lost his last two contests, but he did save 55 of 60 shots (.917 save percentage) during that stretch. Through six appearances this season, he has a 3-3-0 record, 2.71 GAA and .917 save percentage. Dallas ranks third offensively this year with 3.61 goals per game, so this will be a difficult matchup for Daws.

Marino had a great hot streak from Oct. 25-Nov. 14 in which he recorded a goal and eight points across nine appearances, but his offensive production has otherwise come sporadically this season.

Impact Holtz earned his second game-winning goal of the campaign. He's up to 12 tallies and 22 points in 43 outings in 2023-24. That's plenty of offense for a forward who entered Friday's action averaging just 12:00 of ice time, but it's hard to imagine his scoring pace increasing further unless the 21-year-old is given a larger role.

Impact Hischier's marker came midway through the second period to put the Devils up 3-1. He has 12 goals and 24 points in 32 games in 2023-24. Hischier hadn't found the back of the net in his previous four contests, but he did register two assists in that span. The 25-year-old is a high-end forward who might see his scoring pace improve somewhat in the second half of the campaign, provided that he stays healthy.

Impact Bastian earned his third marker and eighth point in 41 contests this season. The tally also snapped his three-game scoring drought. Bastian is serving strictly in a bottom-six role with irregular power-play ice time, so he shouldn't be expected to make regular offensive contributions this year.

Impact Vanecek was beaten by Cole Sillinger just 4:21 into the contest, but he shook it off and was perfect for the rest of the night. He improved to 15-7-2 with a 3.22 GAA and an .885 save percentage in 26 outings in 2023-24. The 28-year-old's overall struggles this campaign have allowed Nico Daws to challenge for the starting gig, and it will take more than one strong start out of Vanecek to reassert himself as the clear No. 1 goalie.
