Ondrej Palat - Return not imminent Palat (lower body) will be out for some time after coach Lindy Ruff told reporters Tuesday, "We don't expect back short-term," per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.
Impact Palat has already been out for three games due to his lower-body injury and should probably be considered out indefinitely at this point. In his last nine outings, the 32-year-old winger managed just one point while putting 18 shots on net. Nathan Bastian figures to see a top-six role with both Palat and Timo Meier (abdomen) on the shelf.

Jack Hughes - Considered week-to-week Hughes (upper body) was labeled week-to-week, though he is not expected to miss months, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports Tuesday.
Impact Hughes hasn't been placed on injured reserve yet but the fact that he is week-to-week could see that chance in the coming days. Dawson Mercer is currently poised to take on the first-line center role with Hughes on the shelf, though Nico Hischier's entire line could be moved up. The 22-year-old Hughes scored just one goal in his last nine contests but did add seven helpers over that stretch, including four with the man advantage.

Impact Siegenthaler suffered a broken foot during Saturday's loss to Vancouver, so the fact that he's been placed on IR doesn't come as a surprise. It wouldn't be surprising to see Siegenthaler sidelined through the All-Star break, which is February 1-3. Cal Foote will likely get the first crack at replacing Siegenthaler in the lineup against Tampa Bay on Thursday.

Impact Willman provided some extra depth on the NHL roster for Saturday's game against Vancouver but has not seen any NHL action since Nov. 22. The 28-year-old has one goal in four games with the Devils this season.

Impact Miller fired a slap shot from above the right circle in the second period that beat Thatcher Demko low blocker side. His other goal was much the same - low-blocker side, this time from the top of the left circle. The goals were Miller's first this season (19 games). He's never been able to replicate his brilliant 41-point campaign in Vegas' first year. There's no fantasy value in two goals and two assists in 19 games thus far.

Nico Daws - Stands on head in loss Daws made 36 saves Saturday in a 6-4 loss to the Devils. He allowed five goals.
Impact He stood on his head in the first period when Vancouver outshot New Jersey 17-5. His teammates were on their heels and it was Daws who saved them that frame. But ultimately, he allowed the same number of goals that he'd allowed his first two starts and that was enough for the Orcas to get a strangle hold on the game. Daws has played three games in the last nine games, going 2-1-0, and may continue to see significant starts with Vitek Vanecek scuffling. He's a worthy waiver pick-up.
