William Eklund - Dealing with upper-body injury Eklund didn't practice Wednesday due to an upper-body injury, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.
Impact Head coach Ryan Warsofsky called Eklund's upper-body injury a "little nagging" issue and indicated that the 22-year-old will likely be a game-time decision for Thursday's matchup against Chicago. Over his first three appearances of the 2024-25 season, Eklund has recorded an assist, nine shots on goal and four blocked shots while averaging 22:27 of ice time.

Tyler Toffoli - Opens scoring in shootout loss Toffoli scored a goal on four shots in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Stars.
Impact Toffoli's unassisted goal at 6:24 of the second period opened the scoring. He has three points over three games, and the Sharks have scored just six times, so the winger is quickly establishing himself as a big part of the offense. He's added nine shots on net, three hits and an even plus-minus rating. While Macklin Celebrini's lower-body injury hurts the potential of the Sharks' offense early in the year, Toffoli should continue to be a productive winger regardless of his linemates.

Mackenzie Blackwood - Good performance in shootout loss Blackwood allowed two goals on 38 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Stars.
Impact Blackwood kept the Sharks in a game against a tough opponent. He didn't have anything left at the end, letting three straight Stars to score in the shootout. Blackwood has allowed seven goals on 78 shots while going 0-0-2 to begin the year, but he's at least putting up a competitive effort under a heavy workload. With a road back-to-back up next -- Thursday in Chicago and Friday in Winnipeg -- expect Blackwood and Vitek Vanecek to each get a start in the near future.
