Out of action Thursday Krug (lower body) is expected to miss Thursday's road game in Ottawa, according to Matthew DeFranks of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Impact Krug will miss his first game of the season, according to coach Drew Bannister. Krug has three goals, 31 assists, 148 shots on goal and 95 blocked shots in 69 games. Marco Scandella will enter the lineup to replace Krug. on the blue line, while Kevin Hayes will likely replace Krug on the second power-play unit.

Two-point effort Krug tallied a goal and an assist in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Wild.

Impact The Wild were frantically trying to tie up the game late in the third period after pulling netminder Marc-Andre Fleury but Krug shot the puck 195 feet from behind his goal line to put the game for good. Krug added an assist on the power play in the second period, one shot on goal and one hit in 24:46 of ice time. In his last 10 games, the 32-year old defenseman has produced two goals, 10 assists, 13 blocked shots and 15 shots on goal. The Blues are currently in the playoff hunt, and Krug's offensive contributions could become even more valuable as the season progresses.

Impact Krug had gone without a point in the last three games, but he snapped the mini-slump quickly by setting up Robert Thomas' tally early in the first period. Krug has a goal and nine helpers over 10 outings in February, which is great progress after a lackluster first half of the campaign. He's up to 30 points (10 on the power play), 126 shots on net, 79 blocked shots and a minus-23 rating over 59 contests overall.

Impact That was just Krug's second goal of the season. It wouldn't be fair to say the 32-year-old defender has lost his offensive gifts, but the goals haven't quite been there this season. Part of that is a lack of power-play goals. He's still part of the team's top unit, but hasn't yet scored on the man advantage. In years past, he's added as many as six goals and 30 points on the power play. Even last year, in a relatively down season for offensive production, he had four goals and 14 points on the power play through 63 games. This year, through 53 contests, he has just eight power-play assists and no goals.

Impact Krug assisted on an Oskar Sundqvist tally in the first period. The helper snapped a six-game slump for Krug, who has just three assists over 11 outings in January. The defenseman remains in a top-four role, though he's lost his spot on the top power-play unit to Scott Perunovich. Krug is at 20 points, 101 shots on net, 62 blocked shots, 24 PIM and a minus-13 rating through 47 contests, a pace that has him on track to miss the 40-point mark for the third time in four years as a Blue.

Impact Krug hasn't scored a goal in 30 straight games, but he was a solid contributor with 15 assists and 72 shots on net in that stretch. Considering he's skating on the second power-play unit, we should expect Krug to tally a few goals before the season's over, but it's worth noting that he hasn't hit double digits in the category since the 2017-18 campaign.
