Lindsay Whalen to join Timberwolves broadcast team for 8 games

FOX Sports North together with the Minnesota Lynx and Minnesota Timberwolves today announced that four-time WNBA Champion Lindsay Whalen is joining FOX Sports North as a Timberwolves analyst for eight telecasts this season, starting on Wednesday, Dec. 6 for the Minnesota Timberwolves vs. L.A. Clippers game.



Whalen is also slated to join the broadcast team on Dec. 12, Jan. 1, Jan. 14, Feb. 7, Feb. 23, March 2 and April 5.

Whalen will join Dave Benz and Jim Petersen courtside and serve as a second analyst, providing her unique insight on the game. Additionally, Whalen will joins Wolves Live to provide viewers with a number of one-on-one interviews and exclusive content.

Whalen makes her debut on Wednesday at 9 p.m. with the start of Wolves Live on FOX Sports North and will join Benz and Petersen courtside for tipoff at 9:30 p.m.

Lindsay Whalen, a native of Hutchinson, Minnesota, is the WNBA’s all-time winningest player and a five-time WNBA All-Star. Along with her four WNBA Championships, she has also won two Olympic Gold Medals (2012, 2016) and is the all-time leading scorer for the University of Minnesota’s women’s basketball program. In 2016 she was named to the WNBA's Top 20@20 Team, which honors the 20 greatest and most influential players in the league’s history. Chosen with the fourth overall pick in the 2004 WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun, Whalen was acquired by the Lynx in January of 2010. Whalen ranks first in Lynx franchise history with 1,285 assists, second in games play (251), fourth in total points (3,051), fourth in minutes played (7,182) and fifth in total rebounds (899).
