NEW YORK, NY – Starting tonight, FOX Sports is home to five straight days of can’t-miss college basketball, highlighted by the renewal of an old rivalry, a top-10 BIG EAST showdown and an unprecedented first-ever, commercial-free all-access telecast.
A full week of must-see college hoops tips off tonight as St. John’s hosts Georgetown at Madison Square Garden in a matchup featuring two of the BIG EAST’s most iconic names meeting on the court for the first time as coaches. Chris Mullin’s Red Storm and Patrick Ewing’s Hoyas hit the floor at the World’s Most Famous Arena, where the two played in some of the conference’s most memorable games, tonight on FS1, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:00 PM ET. Following Georgetown-St. John’s, Butler faces its fourth straight ranked opponent, visiting No. 25 Creighton at 8:30 PM ET. Justin Kutcher and Nick Bahe call the action, while Steve Lavin is on site for the Bluejays’ Dollar Beer Night as the unofficial guest of honor.
The action continues Wednesday night with a matchup of two top-10 teams, as No. 1 Villanova hosts No. 10 Xavier on FS1. Studio host Rob Stone and Lavin are live from Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia with a half-hour edition of FS1 COLLEGE HOOPS TIPOFF at 7:30 PM ET before Gus Johnson and Bill Raftery call the action at 8:00 PM ET.
One of this season’s biggest surprises comes to FS1 on Thursday, as No. 11 Arizona State hosts Oregon at 10:00 PM ET with Aaron Goldsmith and Jim Jackson on the call. The Sun Devils host the Ducks in the second game of a Big Ten/Pac-12 doubleheader which begins at 8:00 PM ET with Iowa at Illinois. Stone and analyst Casey Jacobsen provide studio coverage Thursday night live from Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, Ariz.
Friday night, FS1 presents a unique viewing experience, as Providence at DePaul becomes the first men’s college basketball game ever to be presented commercial-free with both head coaches mic’d up live. Joe Davis and Len Elmore have the call at 8:30 PM ET as the Friars’ Ed Cooley and Blue Demons’ Dave Leitao wear live microphones throughout the game, bringing viewers onto the bench, into the huddle and inside the locker rooms at halftime and postgame. FOX Sports GO offers two additional live streams, with separate channels dedicated to Coach Cooley and Leitao.
