FOX Sports to Unveil Baseball Feature JACK MORRIS / ALAN TRAMMELL
Former Teammates and Friends Ready for MLB’s Hall of Fame Together
Ahead of Sunday’s MLB Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, FOX Sports unveils a special feature on two former teammates, friends and soon-to-be inductees: Jack Morris / Alan Trammell.
The feature chronicles the former Detroit Tigers teammates’ journey to the Hall, beginning when the two were drafted in 1976. Since the institution of the MLB Draft in 1965, Jack Morris and Alan Trammell are the only players ever to be drafted by a team in the same year and each also make it to the Hall of Fame. The pair played together from 1977 to 1990 and were part of the 1984 World Series winning squad.
“It’s a great story of interesting characters and pulsating athleticism with a historic brand, the Detroit Tigers,” said FOX Sports producer Larry Lancaster. “I’ve been truly taken aback at the across-the-board energy and wonder young people have conveyed after watching their story – those who never saw Jack and Alan play. It has strongly connected with everyone, irrespective of age and irrespective of geography.”
JACK MORRIS / ALAN TRAMMELL is available on Saturday, July 29 on FOXSports.com with a condensed version airing across FS1 and the regional sports networks opposite MLB programming.
