FOX Deportes Kicks Off 2019 Major League Soccer Regular Season With Marquee Doubleheader Saturday
LOS ANGELES – FOX Deportes kicks off the 2019 Major League Soccer season on Saturday March 2 at 8:00 PM ET with a marquee doubleheader featuring Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s LA Galaxy and Bastian Schweinsteiger’s Chicago Fire at the Dignity Health Sports Park, followed by the Seattle Sounders and FC Cincinnati at 10:00 PM ET at CenturyLink Field.
FOX DEPORTES EN VIVO begins at 7:00 PM ET with the match broadcast team featuring play-by-play announcer Jairo Moncada and analysts Mariano Trujillo and Martin Zuniga. Play-by-play announcer Adrian Garcia Marquez and analyst Alvaro Izquierdo handle duties for the second match which marks FC Cincinnati’s first ever MLS match.
FOX Deportes’ MLS offerings for the 2019 season includes 34 regular season matches and features six appearances each by MLS Cup Champions Atlanta United, New York Red Bulls, and LA Galaxy and five appearances by Carlos Vela and LAFC.
Highlights of the 2019 schedule include:
- A doubleheader with NYFC hosting LAFC at Yankee Stadium and the first home match for FC Cincinnati as the expansion club hosts MLS Cup finalist Portland Timbers on March 17.
- Two rematches of the 2018 Eastern Conference final between Atlanta United and the Red Bulls on May 19 and July 7.
- Two of the league’s fiercest rivalries with the Hudson River Derby between the Red Bulls and New York City FC on July 14 and the Los Angeles Clasico between Los Angeles FC and the Galaxy on Aug. 25.
- A rematch of the 2018 MLS Cup final as Portland host Atlanta on Aug. 18.
