CHARLOTTE, N.C. — NASCAR heads to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend for the seventh race of the MONSTER ENERGY NASCAR CUP SERIES season, on Sunday, March 31 (3:00 PM ET on FOX), preceded by FS1’s live telecast of the NASCAR XFINITY SERIES (Saturday, March 30 at 1:00 PM ET) and NASCAR GANDER OUTDOORS TRUCK SERIES (Friday, March 29 at 9:00 PM ET).

JAMIE MCMURRAY SAYS TEXAS WILL BE A GOOD TEST FOR WHERE TEAMS STAND WITH THE NEW AERO PACKAGE:
“When you build your cars for the West Coast swing, a lot of those are built before you even get to Daytona. So, that plan is set and you hope you made the right decision. Once you get home from the West Coast, you reevaluate, you put into your new cars what you think you missed before and all the stuff you saw on other teams’ cars. When we get to Texas, we’ll see how everyone is going to lay out. Stewart-Haas Racing has been really good at Texas, so when we get there, we’ll find out what they learned on the West Coast.”
LARRY MCREYNOLDS SAYS TEXAS WILL SHOW WHICH TEAMS HAVE WORK TO DO:
“Texas is where the rubber meets the road, because teams had Atlanta to learn the new package and then the three West Coast races after that. There are no more excuses. When we get to Texas, we’re going to know which teams are weak and which are strong, who has work to do and who is in pretty good shape.”
REGAN SMITH THINKS TEXAS IS AN IMPORTANT WEEKEND FOR THE NO. 4 TEAM AND KEVIN HARVICK:
“Rodney Childers and the No. 4 team have been working on these cars for quite some time, and they’ve had time to really implement their plan. If they’re still a third, fourth, fifth or sixth-place car at Texas, then we start to get a little worried. I realize it’s hard to understand being worried over a third or fifth-place, but maybe they become a little concerned the other organizations have stepped up a bit. This will be an important weekend.”
