Nationals’ Historic World Series Win Delivers Nearly 24 Million Viewers for FOX Sports

NEW YORK – The 2019 World Series champion Washington Nationals’ historic triumph over the Houston Astros delivered nearly 24 million (23.99 million) viewers across all FOX Sports platforms, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Last night’s game drew 23,013,000 viewers on FOX, peaking at 27,058,000 viewers. This is FOX’s best performance for a primetime telecast this broadcast season. It also marks the most-watched baseball telecast of any kind since Game 7 of the 2017 World Series. The viewership number lifts the FOX broadcast network atop the primetime rankings for the sixth time this Series on average audience and in the coveted A18-49 demographic.
Through Game 7 of the 2019 World Series presented by YouTube TV, the MLB Postseason on FOX and FS1 averaged 7,835,000 viewers. This is up +12% over last year’s average of 6,996,000 viewers.
FOX DEPORTES
On FOX Deportes, Game 7 earned an average of 613,000 viewers. This ranks as the second most-watched baseball telecast of any kind in Spanish-language television history.
FOX DIGITAL
Across all FOX Sports streaming platforms, Game 7 drew an average minute audience of 373,021 viewers. This marks the most-streamed baseball game in the network’s history.
LOCAL MARKETS
The telecast earned a rating of 42.7/63 in Houston and 31.8/53 in Washington D.C., the best performance ever for an MLB game in the market since at least 1998. Of the available markets, the following are the next top-rated for Game 7: Austin (26.5/46), San Antonio (21.9/36), St. Louis (18.9/32) and San Diego (18.8/35).
Throughout the 2019 World Series, Washington D.C. averaged a 23.3/43 and Houston a 35.1/57.
