Ohio State Victory is Saturday’s Most-Watched Telecast and Network’s Most-Watched College Football Game This Season
BIG NOON KICKOFF Draws Season-High Numbers
NEW YORK – No. 2 Ohio State’s 28-17 win over No. 8 Penn State was Saturday’s most-watched telecast of the day, attracting 9,425,000 viewers for FOX’s BIG NOON SATURDAY game of the week, according to Nielsen Media Research. The matchup was FOX’s most-watched college football game so far this season and the second most-watched college football game of the season on any network. The Week 13 matchup is up +274% over last year’s comparable game, Michigan State at Nebraska on Nov. 17, 2018.
Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, FOX Sports is enjoying its most-watched college football season to-date, averaging 3,428,000 viewers per game on FOX, up +17% over a season ago. BIG NOON SATURDAY contests are averaging 4,489,000 viewers per game, up +16% over last year’s college football average in the Noon ET time slot.
Prior to the game, FOX presented a special edition of BIG NOON KICKOFF live from Columbus, drawing a season-best 1,979,000 viewers during the 11:00 AM-12:00 PM ET hour. BIG NOON KICKOFF telecasts are averaging 1,080,000 viewers this season, up +34% over last season’s college football pregame show.
FOX Sports wraps up its regular-season college football schedule this weekend, highlighted by one of sports’ biggest rivalries as No. 13 Michigan hosts No. 2 Ohio State. Coverage begins Saturday at 10:00 AM ET on FOX with a two-hour edition of BIG NOON KICKOFF live from Ann Arbor before the game kicks off at 12:00 PM ET. Host Rob Stone and analysts Brady Quinn, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart and former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer are joined by Michigan Heisman Trophy winner Charles Woodson on set, and FOX Sports’ lead college football broadcasters Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt and Jenny Taft call the action.
