FS1 Sets Kentucky NASCAR Cup Series Prerace Lineup
Darrell and Stevie Waltrip, Robert Randolph and Joey Votto serve as prerace dignitaries for Sunday’s NASCAR CUP SERIES race on FS1 (2:30 PM ET) via video from their respective homes.
Darrell Waltrip, NASCAR Hall of Fame driver, three-time champion and former FOX NASCAR analyst, and his wife, Stevie, offer Sunday’s prerace invocation from their home in Franklin, Tenn. The Waltrips are Kentucky natives.
Randolph, a four-time Grammy-nominated pedal steel guitarist, will perform the national anthem prior to Sunday’s race. Randolph, praised by “Rolling Stone” on its list of 100 greatest guitarists of all time, is the face and leader of “Robert Randolph and the Family Band,” an outfit known for its unique fusion of rock, funk, soul and jazz sounds. The band recently released a full-length album titled “Brighter Days,” which was nominated for “Best Contemporary Blues Album” at the 2020 Grammy Awards.
Votto, the 2010 National League Most Valuable Player and a six-time Major League All-Star, gives the command to start engines ahead of Sunday’s race. A longtime superstar first baseman for the Cincinnati Reds, Votto will attempt to lead the team once again as the 2020 Major League Baseball season kicks off later this month.
