New York – Today, FOX Sports announced that beginning Monday, Aug. 24, six-time NFL Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall will join FIRST THINGS FIRST on FS1 alongside Nick Wright, Kevin Wildes and Jenna Wolfe. One of the most prolific wide receivers in history, Marshall brings an invaluable player’s perspective to the network’s early morning show, airing weekdays at 7:30 AM ET on FS1.
“Brandon is a rare talent that has achieved acclaim in both the NFL and the broadcast world at an early stage of his career,” said Whit Albohm, Senior Vice President, Studio Production, FS1. “In the brief time I’ve worked with Brandon, it is already evident what made him such a successful athlete. He has an unquenchable desire to grow and succeed, which is the secret ingredient for excellent television.”
A force to be reckoned with on the gridiron, Marshall played collegiate ball at the University of Central Florida, before being drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2006. He went on to have an exemplary NFL career, notching over 900 receptions and over 12,000 career receiving yards in 13 seasons. Marshall earned six Pro Bowl appearances and was named the 2012 Pro Bowl MVP during his tenure with the Chicago Bears. In 2009, he set the NFL record for most receptions in a single game (21), and tied for most receiving touchdowns in the 2015 season (14).
In 2014, Marshall joined Showtime’s “Inside the NFL,” serving as an on-air analyst. He provided a rare active-player perspective for the show, and will return for his seventh season on-air this fall. In 2016, Marshall was recognized for his exemplary on-air work with a Sports Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Sports Personality – Studio Analyst.”
“I’m a very competitive person,” says Marshall. “Joining FS1 gives me the space and opportunity to continue to compete at a high level with a great team — just in a different venue. I’m excited to work with such amazing men and women to continue to develop and also talk about one of the closest things to my heart: sports.”
Marshall is also well known for his advocacy work and entrepreneurship, specifically supporting improved mental health awareness and resources. In 2014, Marshall and his wife, Michi, cofounded “Project 375,” a nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating the stigma surrounding mental illness and disorders. Marshall merged his passion for mental health and athletic pedigree to found “House of Athlete” in 2019, a lifestyle wellness brand focused on promoting sustainable fulfillment for athletes everywhere through five pillars: train, fuel, mental fitness, recover and tribe.
