Emmy Award-Winning Storyteller and Creator Strengthens Brand’s Commitment to Premium Original Digital Content
NEW YORK – FOX Sports has named Emmy Award winner Kevin Jackson to the position of Managing Editor for the newly redesigned FOXSports.com and FOX Sports app, the company announced today. The announcement was made by David Katz, FOX Sports’ Executive Vice President and Head of Digital.
“Over multiple decades, Kevin has proven himself to be a tremendously successful innovator with a unique ability to launch new content initiatives,” Katz said. “As we continue to serve the modern sports fan and evolve our storytelling on the new FOX Sports app and website, there is no one more qualified to lead the team.”
Jackson, winner of four Sports Emmy Awards, comes to FOX Sports after 25 years at ESPN, where he was the founding editor of popular humor and commentary site, Page 2. He also built their first cross-platform storytelling unit, E-ticket, and oversaw local expansion and international strategies as well as soccer site ESPN FC and women’s-centric site, espnW.
“I’m thrilled to join the talented team at FOX Sports and to be part of their world-class live events portfolio, unparalleled roster of personalities and continual desire to innovate and differentiate,” Jackson said. “Modern fans spend hours with the brand across different screens every week, and I look forward to increasing their connection to its expertise and fresh perspective.”
With FOX Sports, Jackson is responsible for the editorial direction of original content on FOXSports.com and the FOX Sports app, including written pieces, video and podcasts. Jackson will also add to FOX Sports’ roster of digital contributors, which currently includes Martin Rogers, Bob Pockrass, Charlotte Wilder, Jason McIntyre and Mark Titus, expanding the network’s already deep lineup of experts and personalities.
“Kevin is an industry legend, and I am honored to welcome him to our team,” said Michael Bucklin, FOX Sports Vice President, Digital Content. “At FOX Sports, our digital group believes in strong, creative and diverse personalities, and his experience hiring and collaborating with some of the biggest names in sports media is second-to-none. Today is a big day for us as we continue to carry our digital platforms forward.”
