Highlights from FOX NFL – Week 5
Week 5 of the 2020 FOX NFL season kicked off today with a singleheader slate beginning at 1:00 PM ET highlighted by the Eagles at Steelers, Panthers at Falcons, Rams at the Washington Football Team, Cardinals at Jets and the lone 4:05 PM ET matchup featuring the Dolphins at 49ers.
Earlier today, FOX NFL KICKOFF and FOX NFL SUNDAY analysts and NFL insiders weighed in on the day’s biggest games, moments and storylines.
In addition, Terry Bradshaw sat down with Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to discuss his return from elbow surgery that sidelined him for most of last season, a renewed sense of focus and his love of the game.

TERRY BRADSHAW’S ONE-ON-ONE WITH BEN ROETHLISBERGER
Bradshaw: Such a great start for the Steelers. A chance to go 4-0. First time since 1979. The last time that team went 4-0, we went to the Super Bowl. How are you feeling about this team today?
Roethlisberger: “I think it’s a special team. As a quarterback, you know, I should always start with my linemen, but I’ll start with our defense. You know what it’s like to play when you have a great defense. Our defense is playing really well right now. They are one of the big reasons that I came back because when you have a good defense, it makes your job a lot easier.”
Bradshaw: I want to take you back to when you got hurt. When you turned that ball loose, you were grabbing your arm. How scared were you not knowing at that point — hey what’s going on here?
Roethlisberger: “Yeah, definitely scary. You play through pain all the time. But this time was different. It was much more severe and it went down my arm. I was still kinda like OK I’ll just shake this off. It’ll be OK. I think I got the most scared when I went to the sideline and told doc and he said, ‘I can’t let you go back in the game.’”
Bradshaw: You and I had similar injuries and it cost me my career. Did it ever cross your mind “Hey man, this might be it?”
Roethlisberger: “Maybe not at that particular moment. Once we got the MRI and I got the word from doc, you were talking season-ending, and I didn’t feel in here (heart) I was done. I felt like I had more. Obviously it was going to come down to the surgery. I was willing to give it a shot.”
Bradshaw: The injury probably brought on a new focus for you, not only as a man and a husband and daddy, but also it brought on a new focus for you about “Well, I’ve really been blessed and I almost lost the third love of my life, football, and now I have it back.”
Roethlisberger: “I love this game. That’s why I came back. I didn’t have to come back. I’ve accomplished so much as an individual. It’s not about that for me anymore. It’s about the team. Trying to get as many Super Bowls as you’ve blessed this team with and this city with. I can’t look past this season because like you said, it was almost taken from me. I have one more year on my contract and if they’ll have me and I feel good, I’ll honor my contract, but I’ve got to give this season, this team, everything I have right now.”
