FOX Sports Honors Martin Luther King Jr. Day with Special Notre Dame at Howard Hoops Game Today on FOX
First Time Matchup Between Two Legendary Institutions
LOS ANGELES – Today, FOX Sports honors the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. on MLK Day, with a special college basketball matchup featuring the University of Notre Dame at Howard University live on FOX beginning at 2:00 PM ET.
FOX Sports’ coverage of this historic game includes special messages from prominent sports and entertainment figures sharing stories of the impact Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy has had on them, including messages from Emmanuel Acho, Anthony Anderson, Pam Oliver, Michael Strahan and more.
Play-by-play announcer Tim Brando will call the action, while National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Famer and NBA veteran Jim Jackson provides analysis. Howard alumnus and FOX Sports lead college basketball play-by-play announcer Gus Johnson is unable to call the game due to health and safety protocols, but will join the broadcast remotely to offer his unique perspective and memories from his alma mater.
Host Mike Hill and analysts Steve Lavin and Jackson provide pregame, halftime and postgame coverage on-site from Burr Gymnasium in Washington, D.C.
Earlier in the day on FOX, No. 25 Illinois takes on No. 7 Purdue at 12:00 PM ET from Champaign, IL. FOX COLLEGE HOOPS EXTRA begins at 2:00 PM ET on FOX with Notre Dame at Howard tipping off at 2:30 PM ET.
