New York – This week, FOX Sports begins its exclusive presentation of the 2023 BIG EAST Men’s Basketball Tournament, held Wednesday, March 8 to Saturday, March 11, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
FOX Sports’ lead play-by-play announcer Gus Johnson joins Emmy Award-winner Bill Raftery to call the tournament’s Thursday night quarterfinals before teaming with two-time All-American and NBA veteran Jim Jackson for the semifinals and championship. Longtime play-by-play announcer Tim Brando calls Wednesday’s first-round games with Raftery and Thursday’s afternoon quarterfinals with Jackson. Kristina Pink also serves as sideline reporter for all ten games.
On-site studio coverage from Madison Square Garden provides insight and analysis, led by host Rob Stone alongside a pair of NBA alumni and college hoops standouts, Casey Jacobsen and Donny Marshall. The trio provides bridge and postgame coverage throughout the tournament, plus pregame shows before Friday’s semifinals and Saturday’s championship on FOX. Bracket expert Mike DeCourcy also weighs in on the latest NCAA Tournament projections.
Tech Enhancements:
This year, FOX Sports implements a live drone inside Madison Square Garden, believed to be the first time an in-arena live drone will be used in a college basketball contest. In addition, FOX Sports’ Emmy-nominated ‘Megalodon,’ a live wireless camera that produces ultra-vivid imagery integrated seamlessly within a live telecast, returns to the BIG EAST tournament.
