FOX Sports Generates Multi-Platform Roadblock for Friday’s Bundesliga Opener
FOX Sports embarks on its inaugural season as the U.S. home to the Bundesliga, Germany’s top professional soccer league, tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 14, with defending champion Bayern Munich taking on Hamburg. To celebrate the launch, FOX Sports is generating a multi-platform roadblock, airing the match on FOX Sports 2, 17 FOX Sports Regional Networks and affiliates (available in over 78 million homes), multiple local broadcast affiliates, FOXSports.com, FOX Sports’ YouTube channel and FOX Sports GO. Pregame coverage begins at 2:00 PM ET.
The FOX Sports Regional Networks and affiliates carrying the match are: FOX Sports Arizona, FOX Sports Detroit, FOX Sports Florida, FOX Sports Midwest, FOX Sports North, FOX Sports Ohio, FOX Sports Oklahoma, FOX Sports South, FOX Sports Southwest, FOX Sports West, FOX Sports Wisconsin, MASN 2, NESN, Root Sports (Northwest Region), Root Sports (Pittsburgh Region), Root Sports (Rocky Mountain Region) and YES. Local over-the-air coverage is also available in Chicago (WPRW), San Francisco (KICU) and Philadelphia (WTXF – D2), covering nine million homes.
FOX Sports 1’s regular season Bundesliga coverage kicks off Sunday, Aug. 16 with last season’s league runner-up Wolfsburg taking on Eintracht Frankfurt with pregame coverage beginning at 9:00 AM ET.
The Bundesliga season consists of 306 matches played from August to May. In addition to the 58 games telecast on FOX Sports 1, 60 are earmarked for FOX Sports 2, and the remainder offered via FOX Soccer Plus. On the Spanish-language side, FOX Deportes is set to televise 105 matches. Additionally, every game televised on FOX Sports 1 or FOX Sports 2 is being streamed live on desktop computers via FOXSoccer.com as well as the FOX Sports GO mobile app. All FOX Soccer Plus matches are being streamed on the FOX Soccer 2 GO app.
