Lloyd, Morgan, Rapinoe, Solo & World Champion USWNT Continue Victory Tour Thursday on FS1
The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015™ champion U.S. Women’s National Team, featuring superstars Carli Lloyd, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe and Hope Solo, continues its victory tour tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 17, taking on Haiti at Ford Field in Detroit. Pregame coverage on FS1 begins at 7:00 PM ET, followed by the match at 7:30 PM ET.
All 23 players from the Women’s World Cup-winning team, plus NWSL Golden Boot winner Crystal Dunn, make the trip to Motown, to celebrate the USA’s third world title. Rapinoe and Solo are coming off a thrilling semifinal win in the NWSL playoffs last weekend with their club team, the Seattle Reign, and are set for a championship showdown against FC Kansas City on Thursday, Oct. 1 (9:30 PM ET), live on FS1 from Providence Park in Portland.
Haiti was recently named as the USWNT’s opponent for this match after Australia could not send a team due to a pay dispute with its players. The match is the third of a 10-match post-Women’s World Cup victory tour, which started with two convincing wins against Costa Rica in August. The last time the U.S. and Haiti met was in the CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifying tournament last October, a match the USWNT won 6-0.
Pregame coverage is hosted by Rob Stone, who is joined by former USWNT stars Leslie Osborne and Aly Wagner and U.S. Soccer Hall of Famer Eric Wynalda. After calling all of the USA’s FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015™ matches, including the history-making Final, and the first match of this victory tour, JP Dellacamera, Tony DiCicco and Cat Whitehill reunite tomorrow night with Jenny Taft reporting from the sideline.
