Washington Nationals All-Star Max Scherzer Added to FOX Sports’ ALCS Studio Coverage
One of the premier starting pitchers in Major League Baseball, Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer, joins FOX Sports for its coverage of the 2015 American League Championship Series. The announcement was made today by FOX Sports President of Production, John Entz.
Scherzer, a three-time All-Star who this year became one of only six major league pitchers to throw two no-hitters in the same season, joins host Kevin Burkhardt and analysts Raúl Ibañez, Pete Rose and Hall of Famer Frank Thomas in FOX Sports’ Los Angeles Network Center studio as part of pregame and postgame coverage during the pennant-deciding series.
"We’re fired up to have Max join us,” said John Entz. “He’s an incredible player and will be able to have unique insight into the teams we’re covering during the postseason. We couldn’t be more thrilled."
Coverage of the ALCS begins Friday, Oct. 16 at 7:00 PM ET on FS1 with the MLB ON FS1 PREGAME SHOW, followed by Game 1 on FOX at 7:30 PM ET.
Prior to joining the Nationals in 2015, Scherzer spent five seasons as a member of the Detroit Tigers from 2010 to 2014, winning the Cy Young Award in 2013 and pitching in three consecutive ALCS from 2011 to 2013.
