FS1 Assigns All-Female Announce Team to Cover Sunday’s USWNT Match vs. Brazil
The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015™ champion U.S. Women’s National Team, featuring FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year nominees Carli Lloyd, Megan Rapinoe and Hope Solo, continues its victory tour on Sunday, Oct. 25, facing No. 6 Brazil at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, and for the first time, FOX Sports covers a USWNT match with an all-female team in the studio and broadcast booth.
Pregame coverage on FS1 is hosted by Jenny Taft, who for much of 2015 through the USWNT’s FIFA World Cup Final, was an embedded reporter with the USWNT. Taft is joined by former USWNT stars Leslie Osborne and Heather Mitts, while Jenn Hildreth, Kyndra de St. Aubin and Julie Stewart-Binks call the action from the Citrus Bowl. All six women were major contributors to FOX Sports critically-acclaimed FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 television coverage in Canada.
Pregame coverage begins at 2:30 PM ET, followed by the match at 3:00 PM ET. The match is also live streaming on the FOX Sports GO app on mobile devices and on desktop computers via FOXSportsGO.com.
Head coach Jill Ellis, nominated for FIFA Women’s Coach of the Year, has called eight new players to the squad in addition to the 23 players from the Women’s World Cup-winning team. Christen Press, newly-joined host of FOX Sports’ digital soccer coverage, @TheBuzzer, makes the trip to central Florida with her team, and Sunday also sees midfielder Lauren Holiday and defender Lori Chalupny play their final games for the USWNT as they say goodbye to their illustrious careers.
