MLS Western Conference Championship on FS1 and FOX Deportes
Just four teams remain in the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs as the Conference Championships get underway, Sunday, Nov. 22, and FS1 and FOX Deportes televise the first leg of the Western Conference Championship as the Portland Timbers face off against FC Dallas at 7:30 PM ET.
FOX Sports’ lead MLS play-by-play announcer John Strong calls the match, with analyst Alexi Lalas and sideline reports from Julie Stewart-Binks, live from Providence Park in Portland. Rob Stone hosts FS1’s pregame, halftime and postgame coverage on-site in front of a roaring “Timbers Army,” with former U.S. Men’s National Team and Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel offering analysis. Friedel won MLS Goalkeeper of the Year in 1997 as a member of the Columbus Crew, currently playing the New York Red Bulls in the Eastern Conference Championship.
FOX Deportes covers all the action in Spanish beginning at 6:30 PM ET with a special edition of FOX DEPORTES EN VIVO. Calling the match are longtime FOX Deportes play-by-play announcer John Laguna and former MLS player Mariano Trujillo. Jaime Motta provides live reports on-site from Providence Park. FOX Deportes’ digital platforms supplement efforts through social media channels and provide exclusive player interviews on FOXDeportes.com.
In one of the most exciting matches in MLS Cup Playoffs history, one that included three goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation, FC Dallas advanced past a star-studded Seattle Sounders club after eight penalty kicks in their second conference semifinal match played Nov. 8. Top-seeded FCD now travels to Providence Park this weekend, going head-to-head with a powerful Portland Timbers team, who brushed off Pacific Northwest rival Vancouver Whitecaps in the previous round to earn their second-ever Western Conference finals appearance.
With two playoff rounds down, only two matches stand between the remaining teams and a trip to the MLS Cup Final. FS1 and FOX Deportes also televise a yet undetermined second leg conference championship match, Sunday, Nov. 29.
All matches on FS1 on FOX Deportes are available via FOX Sports GO and FOX Soccer 2Go, and online through FOXSportsGO.com.
