Alex Morgan, Carli Lloyd Lead USWNT Against No. 5 England in SheBelieves Cup Thursday on FS1
American soccer superstars Alex Morgan and team captain Carli Lloyd lead the U.S. Women’s National Team into action on Thursday as the reigning FIFA Women’s World Cup Champions take on England in the first match for both teams in the 2016 SheBelieves Cup. The U.S. is hosting the SheBelieves Cup, an elite international competition featuring four of the world’s top-five ranked women’s soccer powers, from March 3 to 9 in Tampa, Nashville and Boca Raton, Fla.
FS1 is televising the top-ranked USWNT’s tournament opener vs. England on Thursday, March 3, with live coverage beginning at 7:30 PM ET. JP Dellacamera calls the action from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa alongside former USWNT defender Aly Wagner and sideline reporter Jenny Taft. England is currently ranked fifth in the world, and in July recorded their best finish ever in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, earning the bronze medal following a heartbreaking own-goal loss to Japan in the semifinals.
The USWNT is currently first in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings and recently secured a berth to the 2016 Olympic Summer Games in Brazil. The USWNT also takes on No. 3 France on March 6 (3:00 PM ET/ESPN3) in Nashville and No. 2 Germany on March 9 (7:30 PM ET/ESPN3) in Boca Raton, Fla.
