FOX Sports Earns Ten Sports Emmy Awards
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presented its 37th Annual Sports Emmy Awards on Tuesday evening in New York City and FOX Sports took top honors in ten different categories. Receiving 41 nominations across FOX Sports’ networks, the dynamic collection of wins included those for on-air personalities, event coverage, feature content and audio production.
FOX Sports’ inaugural coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup nabbed two Emmys, including Outstanding Technical Team Studio and Outstanding Production Design/Art Direction. This recognition follows the New York Festivals World’s Best TV & Films Awards Gold World Medal that FOX Sports also earned for its FIFA Women’s World Cup coverage.
One of the hottest newcomers in the sports media world, Katie Nolan, was also rewarded with an Emmy. Her show, GARBAGE TIME WITH KATIE NOLAN, took the award for Outstanding Social TV Experience.
Lead MLB on FOX insider Ken Rosenthal garnered his second consecutive Outstanding Sports Personality – Sports Reporter, Sports Emmy, while legendary college basketball announcer Bill Raftery, who calls Big East games on FS1, among other networks, was awarded for Outstanding Sports Personality – Sports Event Analyst.
FOX SPORTS LIVE added three trophies to its case after winning four last year, this time for Outstanding Short Feature: Changing Lanes: The Siphiwe Baleka Story; Outstanding Editing – Long Form: Mr. 900: The Bill Fong Story and Outstanding Editing – Short Form: Between the Lines, the story of a tennis court at the San Quentin prison and how it offers inmates the only freedom most of them will ever know.
NASCAR on FOX took the Outstanding Live Event Audio/Sound Sports Emmy – a category that FOX Sports has won every year since 2006, and 14 of the last 15 years.
