FOX Airs Major International Soccer Title Match on Network Television for Second Straight Saturday
All eyes turn to Milan, Italy, on Saturday, May 28, as the fashion capital prepares to host the UEFA Champions League Final, airing live on FOX broadcast network, beginning at 2:00 PM ET. Spanish rivals Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid square off for the second time in three years to determine Europe’s 2015-16 champion and the right to take home the coveted UEFA Champions League trophy. Real Madrid defeated Atletico de Madrid 4-1 in extra time in the 2014 UEFA Champions League Final, and secured the club’s historic 10th European title. Rob Stone hosts studio coverage of the Spanish rematch alongside analysts Eric Wynalda, Warren Barton and Alexi Lalas, with live on-site analysis from Brad Friedel and Geoff Shreeves.
Grammy-winning singer Alicia Keys will be the first-ever musical act to perform as part of the event’s opening ceremony, and Italian classical tenor Andrea Bocelli performs the UEFA Champions League anthem.
This Saturday’s match marks the second time in two weeks a major international soccer champion is crowned on the FOX broadcast network, as last weekend the network aired the FA Cup Final, in which Manchester United edged Crystal Palace, 2-1, in extra time.
