John Strong and Alexi Lalas Call Seattle Sounders-Sporting KC Knockout Match
FOX Sports, home of the 2016 MLS Cup, televises a highly-anticipated single-game knockout match as the Seattle Sounders square off with Sporting KC in the Western Conference round of the 2016 Audi MLS Cup playoffs on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 10:00 PM ET on FS1.
Play-by-play announcer John Strong calls the action live from CenturyLink Field alongside former MLS star Alexi Lalas and Julie Stewart-Binks from the sideline.
The Seattle Sounders defeated Real Salt Lake 2-1 at CenturyLink Field Sunday, earning the club its eighth straight postseason berth and home field advantage in the knockout round match. Sporting KC’s 2-0 home victory the same day against the San Jose Earthquakes secured a club-record sixth straight playoff appearance.
The 2016 MLS Cup will be FOX Sports’ first presentation of the championship event, set to air on the FOX broadcast network in prime time on Saturday, Dec. 10, beginning at 7:30 PM ET. This marks the first time since 2008 that the MLS Cup will air live on English-language network television.
