FOX Sports Sends MLS Studio Show to Seattle for Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs Western Conference Championship Nov. 22
FOX Sports’ presentation of the Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs Western Conference Championship kicks off Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 10:00 PM ET on FS1 and FOX Deportes as the No. 4 seed Seattle Sounders host the No. 2 seed Colorado Rapids in the first leg of the two-game conference championship.
Rob Stone hosts studio coverage live from CenturyLink Field with former MLS defender Alexi Lalas. Lead play-by-play commentator John Strong calls the match alongside former MLS goalkeeper Brad Friedel with Julie Stewart-Binks reporting from the sideline. Jairo Moncada and Alvaro Izquierdo have the call in Spanish on FOX Deportes.
The Sounders defeated FC Dallas 4-2 on aggregate during their Western Conference Semifinals series, while the Rapids defeated the LA Galaxy in penalty kicks to advance to the Western Conference Championship. The Sounders look to earn the club’s first MLS Cup appearance, while the Rapids are looking for their third overall MLS Cup bid and first since 2010.
The 2016 MLS Cup is FOX Sports’ first presentation of the championship event, set to air on the FOX broadcast network in prime time on Saturday, Dec. 10, beginning at 7:30 PM ET. This marks the first time since 2008 that the MLS Cup will air live on English-language network television.
