FIRST THINGS FIRST WITH CRIS CARTER AND NICK WRIGHT Comes to FS1 this Fall

NEW YORK, NY – Set your alarms! FS1 is expanding its daytime studio programming with its first foray into early morning television, FIRST THINGS FIRST WITH CRIS CARTER AND NICK WRIGHT, premiering Tuesday, September 5 at 6:30 AM ET.

Unveiled during Monday’s FOX Upfront, the new daily studio show is led by NFL Hall of Famer Cris Carter and celebrated sports media personality Nick Wright, who offer viewers the first opinion on the day’s most interesting issues in sports.

Today, the duo joined FS1’s SKIP AND SHANNON: UNDISPUTED to discuss their new show and shared their excitement to begin working together.

“Morning television is different,” said Carter, “People are looking for a fresh start, a new alternative. For me as a professional football player and professional broadcaster, I try to get off to a great start to start my day. We want to be part of people’s habits for what they’re doing that day.”

Wright on his expectations for the show, “I think if you can leave your house a little more informed on sports, but also have the good positive mentality that Cris exudes, I think there’s an opening for a really good show and we’re excited to do it.”

Carter continued, “Nick Wright, for people who don’t know him – this is what Skip Bayless sounded like 30 years ago, this is what Colin Cowherd sounded like 20 years ago. I’m excited about the opportunity to work with one of the bright new stars at FS1.”

A legend on the gridiron, Carter is the NFL’s second all-time leading receiver and holds the second-most touchdowns in league history. Following his playing career, he transitioned seamlessly into broadcasting, serving as a studio analyst for NFL programs on HBO and ESPN for nearly a decade.

Wright, a longtime radio and television personality, has thrived at FS1, earning a regular guest host spot on THE HERD and making appearances across all of the network’s daily studio offerings. A proven success in the mornings, prior to joining FS1 Wright hosted “In the Loop,” the #1 show in Houston sports radio’s competitive “morning drive” window.

Charlie Dixon, FS1 EVP of Content, weighed in on the duo and the evolution of their partnership, “Nick and Cris have incredible chemistry. Since meeting in January they’ve spent an incredible amount of time together off the air, and have each only had one request – please let us do a show together. They want to do the type of show the modern sports fan wants, the day’s first exchange of thoughtful perspectives on sports’ biggest stories.”

FIRST THINGS FIRST originates from New York City and will air weekdays from 6:30 to 9:30 AM ET on FS1. The addition of the new show extends FS1’s weekday studio programming slate, leading into SKIP AND SHANNON: UNDISPUTED, THE HERD WITH COLIN COWHERD, SPEAK FOR YOURSELF and NASCAR RACE HUB.
