FOX Sports Unveils Top-Notch Broadcast Team for CONCACAF Gold Cup
Landon Donovan Returns to Booth, Joining John Strong and Stu Holden for USA-Panama Saturday on FOX
LOS ANGELES, CA – FOX Sports unveils its top-notch roster of play-by-play announcers, game analysts and studio commentators for coverage of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The biennial tournament crowning the regional champion of North America, Central America and the Caribbean begins Friday, July 7, across the FOX Sports family of networks. Today’s announcement was made by Jonty Whitehead, Executive Producer of Soccer, FOX Sports.
“We’ve assembled an unparalleled roster of talent for our sixth CONCACAF Gold Cup presentation,” said Whitehead. “Our broadcast team has over 20 years of combined experience, bringing extensive knowledge and depth to this year’s premier stateside tournament.”
The best-in-class broadcast team is comprised of four play-by-play announcers, six game analysts and two embedded reporters, plus pregame coverage featuring hosts Kate Abdo and Rob Stone. Abdo and Stone anchor the studio on alternate days alongside a rotation of analysts including U.S. Hall of Famer Alexi Lalas, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Aly Wagner, former U.S. MNT and MLS star Eric Wynalda, former Mexican National Team member Mariano Trujillo, Orlando City forward Giles Barnes and Emmy-Award winning broadcaster Fernando “El Presidente” Fiore.
Lead play-by-play announcer John Strong calls all U.S. MNT matches alongside Landon Donovan, the all-time leading goal scorer for the U.S. MNT and the LA Galaxy, and former U.S. MNT midfielder Stu Holden.

The U.S. MNT kicks off its CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign against Panama on Saturday, July 8, on the FOX broadcast network at 4:30 PM ET. On Sunday, July 9, reigning champion Mexico squares off against El Salvador at 9:00 PM ET on FS1. French Guiana opens the tournament against Canada on Friday, July 7, at 7:00 PM ET on FS2. Quarterfinal coverage airs Wednesday, July 19 (FS1, 6:00 PM ET and 8:30 PM ET) and Thursday, July 20 (FS1, 6:30 PM ET and 9:30 PM ET), with the semifinals on Saturday, July 22, at 10:00 PM ET and Sunday, July 23, at 9:00 PM ET, on FS1.
