Alvaro Izquierdo serves as a soccer analyst for FOX Deportes with a special focus on South American and Honduran soccer.

Izquierdo joined FOX Deportes in 2014, having entered the world of television after a successful playing career that saw him play in seven countries.

Born in Uruguay, Izquierdo began his career at legendary club Penarol under the direction of famed manager Oscar Washington Tabarez. With “La Manya” he won the Uruguayan league title in 1986 and the Copa Libertadores in 1987.

He also made his mark in Honduras, appearing for Olimpia, Motagua and Victoria and wining two league titles.

He also played in Colombia, Paraguay, Chile, Ecuador and Mexico.
