Bio

A former professional soccer player for two decades, Cesilio de los Santos forms part of the panel for FOX Deportes’ newest soccer debate program, PUNTO FINAL.

Born in Rivera, Uruguay in 1965, de los Santos began his career with his hometown Rivera Frontera in 1983.  The defender soon moved to Bella Vista before being sold to Club America in 1984. In seven years with the famed Mexican club, de los Santos won a league title, one Campeon de Campeones title and two CONCACAF Champions Cup titles. In Mexico he also appeared for Tigres and Puebla. He ended his career at Nacional in his native country.

He also appeared nine times for the Uruguayan National Team.

After his playing career, he began an eleven-year career as a coach.  He spent time with America as an assistant coach with the first team and head coach of the U-20 squad and second division team.  He also spent time as coach of Murcielagos and Delfines in the Mexican Second Division and as an assistant with Morelia in Liga MX.

He also appeared on television with Televisa and HisportsTV.
