FS1 Records Top-10 Week
Over 13.8 million viewers watched FOX Sports 1 programming last week (Aug. 25-31), which is the year-old channel’s largest weekly audience since March 10-16, and its ninth-best since launch, according to Nielsen. This strong week was highlighted by FOX Sports 1’s second most-watched Sunday (8/31), averaging 305,000 viewers (3:00 AM ET-3:00 AM ET).
The return of college football to FOX Sports 1 contributed to the channel’s performance with its four games averaging 542,000 viewers, a +10% increase over the 493,000 viewers that five games averaged in Week 1 of last season, and +26% in Adults 18-49 (255,000 vs. 203,000). FOX Sports 1 posted the largest year-to-year viewership increase of all national carriers of college football, and was one of just two in positive territory. Baylor’s 45-0 rout of SMU posted 762,000 viewers, making it FOX Sports 1’s most-watched telecast of the week, +30% compared to the average Big 12 games recorded on FOX Sports 1 last season.
On Tuesday (8/26), NASCAR released its 2015 Sprint Cup race schedule, an announcement that was carried on both FOX Sports 1’s NASCAR RACE HUB and NBCSN’s NASCAR America programs.
