FOX Sports 1 Gives Fans Unprecedented Access to Villanova-Northwood Men’s College Basketball Game
New York – FOX Sports opens the 2014-15 college basketball season by bringing fans closer to the game than ever before with groundbreaking access for its first game of the season, an exhibition contest between Villanova and Northwood at The Pavilion tonight, Tuesday, Nov. 4 (7:00 PM ET) on FOX Sports 1.
Fans have the opportunity to experience the action as if they were sitting on the Villanova bench, as Wildcats manager Mike Clark wears a special mounted camera with microphone throughout the entire game. Footage from Bench Cam, as well as material captured from other featured cameras in the arena, is streamed live on FOX Sports GO and incorporated into the telecast on FOX Sports 1. In addition, Villanova head coach Jay Wright and Northwood head coach Rollie Massimino are mic’d up, FOX Sports goes inside the team huddles, and broadcasters Tim Brando and Bill Raftery will speak with several players form Villanova’s 1985 NCAA Championship team during the game.

Northwood’s Massimino served as head coach at Villanova from 1973-92, leading the Wildcats to the 1985 NCAA Championship, and meets his former squad as it celebrates the 30th anniversary of its national title.

The regular season tips off Friday, Nov. 14, with a FOX Sports 2 doubleheader as the Wildcats host Lehigh (8:00 PM ET), followed by a cross-town Chicago showdown as UIC visits DePaul (10:00 PM ET). Conference play opens Wednesday, Dec. 31, with a five-game New Year’s Eve marathon stretching from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM ET on FOX Sports 1.
